Well, I had an obvious revelation today. It is: "What we don't say is more important than what we do say." I sit here behind the reference desk, and also work behind the circulation desk. And let me tell you. Sometimes the only thing keeping me from speaking what is really on my mind is that fact that I have a job, and want to keep it. Some of the stuff that comes out of people's mouth on a daily basis...I tell you, I don't have the imagination necessary to make it up. (And I have a pretty vivid imaginary life, let me tell you. >.> Patience and restraint have become my best friends of late.
It also means that if you truly care about someone, tell them that. They can't read your every thought. Even if you think they know, MAKE SURE that they know. Because you don't know what is going to happen next in life. You don't want to leave being unsure... But also, caring is in the interaction, the touches, the smiles, the hugs. They all make a big difference in the overall picture.
